Now That’s What Blogging Is About!

IWB flipchartWow! What a post! Every so often you read a blog post from someone that is a fantastic illustration of why you take the time to blog and what a great sharing resource a blog can be. The blog that I have just finished reading  called Pulling In Digital Content To Build Mathematics Lessons from Graeme Wegner is a great example of one of these blog postings. Graeme demonstrates that reflective process that we, as teachers working to integrate the use of new technologies, need to adopt. I commend this post to any teacher who wants to use interactive technology to enhance learning in their classroom. I particularly like the way that Graeme reveals the way in which his thinking about how to use an interactive whiteboard with his class is changing. Ifeel that this is key to the way in which all teachers need to be reflective about what they are doing in a classroom, with or without technology.

I also love the way that Graeme draws on other sources for his reflective writing. This mention of a post by Dan Meyer shows the reading and the thought that goes into constructing lessons. Also love the mention of some of the great starter activities that we can use with students on an IWB. Especially this one time keeping page. In the comment that I will feed back to Graeme, I want to mention about the free interactive resources for maths that Yenka has made available.

Also Mark Cogan’s great interactives

These are sold through Ideal Resources in Australia

and are a great resource for starter and review activities with kids.

Big probs posting this tonight so I will quit whilst I still can.
