Another Example of a One-to-One Device for Kids

Was listening to Podcast for Teachers today where I heard about this device that sounds like an alternative to the ASUS Eee PC that I have blogged about some time ago.
If your school or district is looking for a cost effective, one-to-one, portable computing solution with laptop features, curriculum and assessment at a total cost of ownership not prohibitive to your school, then the StudentMate is for you. The StudentMate features a color touch screen, wireless and Ethernet connectivity, Flash enabled web browser, Word and Excel compatible applications, e-mail, a *5 yr. warranty and much more!
I reckon that this could be the start of a groundswell. I know that it looks a bit “toyish” but look at the features and the warranty! The podcast quoted this as being around the $399 mark.
